I’m speaking at the staff devotions for Pacific Hills Christian School in Sydney each morning this week. This morning I spoke from Hebrews 1:1-2 — “Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son…” These verses have always been very important and meaningful to me.
God has spoken! That means he cares about us. He doesn’t just ignore us—rather, he speaks to us. His loving focus on us is even more emphasised by the phrase that follows: “He has spoken to us by his Son“! God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son. God is saying to you today, “I care about you. You matter to me. I want to communicate to you. And I want to communicate that same message through you to those around you in life!”
God speaks! He wants to speak his love through you. He wants your life and words to be such that people around you will know that he loves them. As Paul put it, “We are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were entreating through us, we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.”
