One of the best ways to increase your passion for evangelism is to partner with an organisation that has evangelism as its focus!
When you commit your personal time in prayer and your own money to something, it naturally grows your care factor about it. That is definitely true of evangelism.
My wife and I pray for and support the university ministry of Power to Change. When we then hear the stories from campus of God at work, activating believers on campus as witnesses and changing lives of those who put their trust in him, it motivates us in our witness for Jesus. Even better, I then get to meet some of those students when I speak at their conferences!
What does Jesus say about this principle? He says, “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21).
Where your treasure is, your heart is. I encourage you to put some of your treasure into ministries whose focus is evangelism and then watch your own passion for evangelism increase! Your heart will follow your giving.
That’s one of the reasons I am so excited to be a part of the team at Ambassadors for Christ International. Our whole focus is on evangelism. Our motto is “revival in the church, evangelism through the church, training for the church”. Our mission is: We are building a movement of transformed churches across the world whose people have a culture of living as witnesses in their everyday lives, calling others to faith in Jesus.

If you have a passion for some other kind of evangelistic ministry, give to another ministry with an evangelism focus. But don’t miss this principle that giving directs your heart’s focus!
